Lola is funny, cheeky and full of joy. She is non-verbal, has a learning disability, and loves music, laughter and anything that lights up.
Watching the way Lola comes alive through light, movement and sensory play has taught our family just how meaningful the right environment can be. It can encourage curiosity, invite movement, create moments of calm and, most importantly, bring genuine happiness.
I’m Danny, Lola’s dad, and Lola Sense Lab grew from those experiences.
Sensory products for real family life
I wanted to create the kind of sensory store I would want to shop from as a parent: warm, welcoming and easy to understand, without the cold or clinical feel that can sometimes surround specialist products.
Our sensory products are thoughtfully chosen to bring engaging experiences into homes, schools and sensory spaces. From colourful stepping stones and balance beams to interactive LED boards and infinity mirrors, everything we offer is selected with purposeful play and real-life use in mind.
Every child experiences the world differently, and no single product will be right for everyone. Our aim is to help families discover products that feel right for their child-whether they are looking to encourage movement, create a calming space, support focused play or simply bring more colour and joy into their day.
More than a sensory store
Lola Sense Lab is also the home of My Voice Book-a growing range of AAC communication tools inspired by Lola and created for non-verbal and minimally verbal children.
It includes a physical press-and-speak communication book and My Voice Book AAC, a free app being developed around the same purpose: giving children another practical and approachable way to express what they want, need and feel.
Both are still being carefully developed and tested. They are deeply personal parts of our journey and reflect the belief at the heart of Lola Sense Lab: every child deserves to feel understood, included and celebrated for exactly who they are.
